Abrar-ul-Haq Biography

Abrar-ul-Haq (PunjabiUrduابرار الحق‎; born Abrar-ul-Haq Kahloon) is aPakistani popbhangra, and folk musician and Politician. He is also the President of Youth Wing of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. On his first album "Billo De Ghar" his name appears as simply "Abrar". Before becoming a singer, he was a geography teacher at the Aitchison College in Lahore. He is Chairman of Youth Parliament of Pakistan.

Singing

During my time at Aitchison, I became quite interested in poetry and decided to enter the world of glamour by releasing my first song album, Billo De Ghar. My album proved to be a success not only in Pakistan but around the globe, which influenced me to resign from Aitchison and take singing as a full time career.
Being a singer took me around the world with my first live concert in Vancouver, Canada, where I was not only welcomed by Pakistani crowd but also greeted by the huge Sikh and Hindu community from the sub-continent. I was appreciated by international community and it proved to be another unique experience of my life as it was my first interaction with international diaspora. I believe it was moment of pride for me and my country that I was recognized globally.
I believe in quality than in quantity therefore, I have only six albums to my credit. However, these six albums have sold on record-breaking numbers. I have the privilege to declare that my CDs had the highest number of sold CDS to date in Pakistan, along with attracting the highest number of audiences counting up to two hundred thousand people.
I, also, feel much honored to declare that I have received maximum number of awards and looking at the lighter side enticing maximum number of controversies for my songs as well. My last album was sold for 25 million Pakistani rupees which made me the highest paid artist in the history of Pakistani music as it is currently the highest recordI am releasing my new album soon In-sha-Allah and hoping it will get the good response like my previous albums from the public. I believe that people of Pakistan need entertainment more than ever before to come out of the constant depression that they have been into for a very long time for the incompetence of our governments and this is one of the main reasons that took me back to music.

Tehreek-e-Insaaf

After accomplishing aforementioned achievements, I still had the yearning to do more. This time, however, I wanted it to be different, so I decided to establish an organization for the youth of Pakistan which will enable them to become leaders of tomorrow. After I was impregnated with the idea of creating this organization of youth, I worked hard to make it a reality and named it the Youth Parliament of Pakistan. The vision of this organization is to empower the young people of Pakistan with an ability to understand the importance of their role in the society, so to mobilize the youth Pakistan I initiated many projects with incentives to attract the youth of Pakistan. The first initiative was a reality show, “Kaun Hoga Nojawanoo Ka Wazir-e-Azam?” (Who will be the Prime Minister of Youth?). To get this reality show started, for the pre-qualification round we did 36 concept development workshops in 36 different districts of Pakistan, covering almost the entire country, including Gilgit–Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan and also Kashmir. Each workshop lasted for three days, after which the participants were short-listed from every youth Provincial Assembly Constituencies. These short listed candidates then participated in elections and three hundred and fifty young Members of National Youth Assemblies (MNYAs) were elected by the whole nation through a proper voting system. The program was telecasted on ATV and people voted directly though their phones as the voting is available for other reality shows. The aim was to bring revolution through the revolutionary thinking of the younger minds of Pakistan who constitute for 67% of the total population of Pakistan.
Keeping the aim of Youth Parliament of Pakistan in mind, I decided to set my foot in the political world of Pakistan. In the recent years, Imran Khan was gaining popularity and emerging as the leader with the brightest vision. Considering his credentials, I decided to support him and it was on the 30th of October in 2010 when I officially joined Paksitan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI). I was then appointed as the first president of the Youth Wing of PTI. Later on when the internal party elections took place, I was elected as the Security Officer of Foreign Affairs of PTI and I am currently still in the same position. With my team members that include Shamshad Ahmed Khan, I am formulating the former policy of Pakistan. This team holds the important role of reframing the foreign policy of Pakistan.
